How to make cats eat?

                                    How to make cats eat?
The cat is now a very well-domesticated pet. However, instinct persists and also manifests in front of the mash when the time to eat has arrived.

This is how he catches a piece of food with his legs, pulls it out of the bowl and moves it away, then catches it and eventually takes it elsewhere, or places it at the foot of his master as if he were it was a trophy.

The behavior would be the same with a prey: it is indeed rare that a wild cat devours its prey in the place where it killed it; most of the time he takes it elsewhere so he can eat it safely. For a cat, the preparation of the bowl is a ritual; the opportunity to share an important moment with the master, to the point of pretending to be impatient until the meal is ready.

An approach to food stimulated by smell
As he is used to eating several times a day, his approach to food is primarily stimulated by smell. The initial olfactory acuity increases when the cat is hungry and weakens when it is full. It prefers food at 38 ° C, the body temperature of its natural prey, and it appreciates food that is too cold or too hot.

His way of touching food is generally very delicate and we have noticed the existence of three modes of grasping food, especially when it comes to kibbles: labial, lingual superior and sublingual.

The most common lip mode is to grab the croquette with the incisors without using the tongue.
The superior lingual mode consists in catching the kibble by licking it.
The sublingual or lower lingual mode consists in catching the kibble with the lower part of the tongue and turning it in the mouth to be able to ingest it.

The taste obviously plays a very important role in the choice of the diet of the adult cat and we have seen that it appreciates more particularly the acid taste.
